Real Estate in Clearwater, Florida

Clearwater is a beautiful city of approximately 100,000 residents. Clearwater real estate sales have enjoyed a recent resurgence mainly due to a large volume of short sales and foreclosures. Approximately half of the Clearwater area real estate closings in the last year have been distressed sales. Many buyers are taking advantage of the historically low interest rates and home prices that have been largely rolled back to 2001-2003 levels. With these factors lined up in your favor, it is definitely an excellent time to buy your next home or condo.

Clearwater and all of Pinellas County enjoy gorgeous sugar beaches on the Gulf of Mexico. Pinellas County has a few famous state park beaches, from Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Islands in the north to Ft Desoto on the southern tip. Other than those state parks, the rest of the coastline is populated with beautiful beach homes and condos.

Clearwater Area Gated Communities

Most of the gated communities are somewhat away from the gulf.  They are a bit inland where development land is easier (not easy, but easier) to come by. There are several venerable gated condo communities lining Boca Ciega Bay. And of course, all of the nicer condo developments are gated, generally with security guards.
